Sharpening of petrol-powered saw chains

The chains are sharpened on specialized chain grinders, enabling to quickly and accurately sharpen any saw chain. Despite the widespread use of different filers for chain sharpening, we recommend to use our services, because no filer will provide the correct uniform sharpening of each sawtooth at required angle.

How to determine that the saw is blunt?

The efficient operation of electric and petrol-powered saws depends on the saw sets and the chain. Timely chain sharpening and proper handling of the saw set reduce labour costs and increase the efficiency of the work performed. Chain is considered worn out, if the tensioner does not provide the correct chain tension (it means that chain is "stretched"). the chain must always be sharpened! Then sawing will be carried out safely, efficiently, and accurately. Loggers believe the sharpened chain to be more important that the powerful engine.

How often should I sharpen the chain?

There is no exact timing for the chain sharpening. It depends on how often you use a saw, and when you feel that sawing has become more slowly, it's time to sharpen the chain. If the bar is "carried off" - the chain needs sharpening as well. Chips also indicates the saw chain condition. When the chain is well sharpened, the chips are homogeneous and the sawdust is approximately of square shape. With a blunt chain, there will be a lot of dust in the chip and sawdust will be like needles. It is better to entrust sharpening to a specialist, otherwise you may permanently damage the chain, and purchasing of the chain costs much more than the payment of for our sharpening services.
